Description

A hand-painted Georgian Porcelain Patch Box, c. 1800, oval in shape with a ribbed base, to enhance grip when choosing a patch. The catch is good, with a distinctive 'snap' upon closing. There are no factory marks which suggests an early piece, possibly continental.

Obviously, Patches are no longer used, but the box is a suitable container for medication.
