Unlike the ones which depict the Passion of Jesus, this shows an empty Cross and, although some of the symbols of the Passion are visible, the ladders used in the 'deposition', the removal of Christ's body are set against the cross and the cross is gilded and decorated, and the palms of victory flank it on either side. A remarkable and unusual item.
